It doesn't take a lot to drag us down these days
A rainy day in England
Or a ruined afterthought
As she doesn't like tea
I didn't leave my flat in two or three days
I didn't feel like working
It's so good to meditate
In relative peace
I keep hearing noise though
Political songs written
By middle-class girls
Telling me it's awful
How the old boys and girls
Have ruined our world
And I should be outraged
But I want to be nothing at all
And when push comes to shove
And I'm caught right in the middle
I would let everything fall
And join the cats of Istanbul
It feels surreal to think about tomorrow
On a surly Sunday
I have yet to process what
Happened on Monday
An insult was proffered somewhere
But I can't recall the context
Was it flirtatious or a threat
I wouldn't guess
I keep hearing noise though
Telling me to get
Ahead in the world
And how it's so awful
That the young boys and girls
Don't work anymore
And I should be outraged
But I want to be nothing at all
And if push comes to shove
And I'm caught right in the middle
I would let everything falter
And join the cats of Istanbul
Oh yes the stunning sunset overlooking
Salarymen in the deep end
As I jump up to throw a paper plane
